I decided when I was in high school that I was going to be a high school math teacher because I love algebra. I planned to be first in my class and to be an A student, but I was a B+ student and was sixth in my class. I picked a classmate of mine to compete with, and she kept me working as hard as I could to do better than she did. I never did, but I should thank her for being in my life. My teaching experience has been St. Joseph-Ogden High School teaching math and social studies; Reddick Junior High teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math; and Grayville Junior/Senior High School where I taught junior and senior high in English, social studies, psychology and math. My final stop is North Greene High School. I think we have many fine students here that need to have people believe in them and to encourage them to do their best and to be successful, responsible young people. Sometimes, I get frustrated with their behavior and unpreparedness for class, but I refuse to give up on them. I know they can do it. I believe in them.
